Dendrocnide moroides
This plant is commonly known as the suicide plant ,not bcoz it commit suicide but when touched, it make the people commit suicide.
This plant is famous by several names like, stinger, stinging bush, gympie, mulberry leaved stinger.
It is one of the most toxic and dangerous plant in the world.
They are found in rainforest of Australia, and Indonesia.
Except root every part of this plant is covered with stinging hairs.
The fruit of this plant ( fleshy ,mulberry like) is edible if the hairs are removed.
Just by a simple touch, these hairs penetrate into the body and releases a toxin called Moroidin.
Once this toxin is released, initially an intense pain will be felt after which joints ache and swelling occur under armpits which is more painful than the sting. The pain can last for several months or over years.
It is said that the pain is such that, the people who felt this pain have committed suicide in order to relieve themselves from the pain...
