India is a country ,diverse not only in its culture ,religion,food,climate but also in its flora and fauna.

Clerodendrum paniculatum, this plant is known by several names in India.

In Kerela (of southern India), it is know as ' krishna kireedam' which means the crown of lord krishna.




Its inflorencence shape resembles the crown of krishna in the artform krishanattam( a temple art in
kerela presenting the story of krishna).
It has a significance inthe onam festival celebrated in kerela and considered to have many medicinal use like for kidey problems.

Once ,this plant was very common in kerela but now rarely we can see one..
